Description
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not inhale the spray mist.
• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
• Wash with soap and water after use or after accidental skin contact.
• In case of contact with eyes, flush with plenty of water and get medical attention.
• In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water and remove contaminated clothes.
• Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing or applying the product or before washing hands and face or change of clothing.
• Prevent drift onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams or areas not under treatment.
• Clean applicator after use and dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate food, grazing, boreholes, rivers or dams.
• TRIPLE RINSE empty containers in the following manner: Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow draining for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsing to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner.
• Destroy the container by perforation and flattening and dispose of it in a safe way.
• Never re-use the empty container for any other purpose.
• Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN CAUTION

Crop |
Rate |
Timing |
Apples (Nursery and Orchard) |
125-500 ppm1 (0.25-1 pint Promalin per 5 gallons of spray solution)2 |
For orchard trees (apples and non-bearing pears), apply at 1-3 inches of new terminal growth. For nursery stock (apples, non-bearing pears and non-bearing sweet cherries) treat after trees have reached a terminal height at which lateral branching is desired. |
Non-bearing Pears (Nursery and Orchard) |
250-1,000 ppm (0.5-2 pints Promalin per 5 gallons of spray solution) |
|
Non-bearing Sweet Cherries (Nursery only) |
250-1,000 ppm (0.5-2 pints Promalin per 5 gallons of spray solution) |
1parts per million
2Do not exceed 2 pints per acre.
Rate and Timing
- For Improved Typiness and Size:
Crop |
Objective/ Benefit |
Product/ Acre |
Application Method and Timing |
Apple Single application |
To improve typiness and size. |
1 – 2 pints |
Make a s ingle application of 1-2 pints of P romalin per acre from early king bloom to the early stages of petal fall of the side blos soms. |
Apple Split applications |
To improve typiness and size during prolonged bloom periods . |
0.5-1 pint |
Make the firs t application of 0.5-1 pint of P romalin per acre at the beginning of the bloom period, from early king bloom to the early s tages of petal fall of the s ide bloom. Make the second application of 0.5 – 1 pint of Promalin per acre 3 – 21 days later, or when the remainder of the canopy comes into bloom. |
NOTE :
• When the bloom period is prolonged, two applications give the best results.
• Do not exceed the maximum indicated rate of 2 pints per acrefor the combined sprays .
2. To Increase Fruit Set After Frost
(Not for use in California)
Crop |
Objective/ Benefit |
Product/ Acre |
Application Method and Timing |
Apple |
To increase fruit set after fros t |
1 – 2 pints |
Apply within 24 hoursafter a frost event when the majority of the crop is between early bloom and full bloom. Applyin 75-150 gallons of water per acre. |
NOTE : • Do not apply to frozen foliage, blossoms or developing fruit. Allow trees to completely thaw prior to application.
• Apply Promalin in sufficient amount of water to ensure thorough, but not excessive coverage. Adjust water volume based on tree size and spacing.
• Do not use a surfactant.
• Do not apply more than twice for this use.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed.
Compatibility:
• PERLAN® may be applied in combination with plant nutrients.
• A wetter may be added to improve spray coverage and absorption of PERLAN® spray mixture.
Application Instructions:
• PERLAN® is a plant growth regulator, which must be absorbed by the plant to be effective.
Optimum results will be achieved on vigorous, healthy trees when sprayed under good absorption conditions. High relative humidity and slow drying conditions favour maximum absorption.
• Do not apply PERLAN® to low vigour trees, or trees under stress from drought, winter injury, etc.
• Apply as a uniform fine mist spray so that 85 % of the spray volume is directed onto the upper two thirds of the trees, under favourable weather conditions.
• Use a properly calibrated sprayer that ensures uniform and complete coverage of all foliage and blossoms. Spray volume should be adjusted to tree size and density.
• Do not apply PERLAN® when the air temperature is lower than 7 °C or higher than 32 °C. Rapid drying conditions should be avoided. Applications in the mornings or evenings may be preferable.
• Delay PERLAN® application after rain until flower parts and leaves are free of surface droplets.
Rainfall with in 6 hours of application may reduce the expected response of PERLAN®.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.
Pesticide Storage : Store below 75°F (24°C). Keep container stightly closed when not in use.
Pesticide Disposal : Wastes resulting from the use of this product may bed is posed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
• Add the required amount of PERLAN® to a clean spray tank half-filled with clean water.
• Agitate while filling the tank with clean water to the required level.
• PERLAN® spray solutions should be used within 24 hours of mixing.
• When a wetter or a buffered wetting agent is used, it should be added to the tank prior to the addition of PERLAN®
